The Union City School District is grateful to all the men and women who serve and protect our communities, especially our Union City Police Department. Today is the perfect time to show officers we understand how difficult their job is. It is important to show officers how much we understand their difficult work and appreciate their sacrifice and risk.

On December 18, 1787, New Jersey became the 3rd state to ratify the U.S. Constitution and was admitted into the Union, with delegates from all 13 counties in New Jersey voting unanimously. New Jersey was nicknamed “The Garden State" in the nineteenth century by Abraham Browning, a Camden attorney, who stated, "the Garden State is an immense barrel, filled with good things to eat and open at both ends, with Pennsylvanians grabbing from one end and New Yorkers from the other.”

Happy Bill of Rights Day! Today, December 15th, commemorates the 1791 ratification of the first Ten Amendments to the United States Constitution, guaranteeing fundamental freedoms like speech, religion, and a fair trial, and reserving powers for the people and states, serving as a cornerstone of American liberty.

To combat opioid overdoses, the Board of Education has installed naloxone (brand
name Narcan) kits at Union City High School and the ACCE building. Thank you for taking the time to review the information provided.
